Dream a Little Dream…

I forget how useful it can be to surrender my troubles to my dream state.

It’s not a fail-safe method, but letting my subconscious go forth and fetch a solution or two is like magic.

No, it’s not like ordering a pizza. Delivery isn’t assured and the toppings are unpredictable, but it’s worth a whirl.  Turning my pensive evening thoughts into questions, wondering WWDD (What Would Dad Do) has its payoffs.

In this week’s podcast, Wynne and I talk about a recent epiphany…obscure at first but on-point once I connected the dots.

Oh – and this. I need to share! Insight, for me, often comes with its own soundtrack. I don’t struggle to summon a tune…they just arrive and this experience, the one shared in our A” is for Ambivalence episode is brought to you by a favorite from the Mamas and the Papas. Not just my papa 😉 who also loved the song. A dreamy melody. Restorative and calming. The lyrics make me sway with early morning happiness:

Stars shinin’ bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper, “I love you”
Birds singin’ in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me

Sweet dreams ’til sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams, whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

-Songwriters Gus Kahn, Wilbur Schwandt & Fabian Andre

  1. That’s a lovely tune and such sweet lyrics!

As I noted on the HOTM post, love the conversation between you both and dreams are so fascinating in how they help us make the connections, in our lucid state, that we don’t readily do in our conscious state. Funny and fascinating how that works!

  9. Oh! What you’ve described is what I learned during my 28-day meditation thingee in February. It was something about accessing alpha and theta states and learning to release and ask questions, then expecting answers. I won’t go into details, but so far, so good 👌🏽

    1. Oh! Right back at ya! Love that, Kath. 🥰 Theta state — synonymous with creativity, intuition. The slowing down to ramp up awareness. So good! Yes! Xo! ❤️
