Podcast Friday! The Next Good Thing

Wynne and I love a thought-provoking chat with our friend, Dr. Gerald Stein.  This – our 60th episode – marks the sixth time we’ve enjoyed learning from one of our favorite podcast guests.

Maybe it’s the introspectiveness that arrives when Spring dances before us in the Northern Hemisphere.  Opportunity and new life; longer days and time to reflect?  Renewal vibes, for sure.

This episode is full of ‘tune up’ potential.  Insights from Dr. Stein about seeing into the future, leaning into lessons about patterns, predictions and personal responsibility.

Of all the resonant bits, as I listened back to our conversation this morning, one reminder will stick with me: Life is full of risk and navigating with friends, finding our people, makes the road joyful.

I love it when Wynne and Dr. Stein talk about agency and opportunity – despite all that might be wrong with the world. Look for the “next good thing”.  Aspire to BE the next good thing…not just for ourselves but for the greater good.

Thank you so much for joining us.

Vicki 😊

  4. I really like the two points made around we all have a part to play in repairing the world. And as someone navigating recent family loss, I found Dr Stein’s point around something is infinitely lost when someone is gone, especially the example of the last person that knew Christ. A compelling thought for this Good Friday too!

    1. I’m with you. Dr. Stein’s point…it’s not something I’d ever thought of. All of those ‘last moments’ and the meaning the hold. Slowing down to see it all, feel it and hold the memories. Especially in the face of losses – just as you’ve experienced recently. Compelling, indeed. Thank you, Ab. Big hugs! 💕

  6. Yes, I was driving as I listened and will go back and listen again but was struck as well by these two points. First, the importance of making friends as we face the future. Isolation is not good. And second, what we lose when someone with certain experiences dies. A lot of food for thought. And inspiration for writing! Thanks ladies. ❤️❤️

    1. Thank you, Deb – so much – for listening and for connecting with those nuggets. I agree…friends (and yep – I absolutely include blogging/virtual friends) are a delight. Especially when we can trade ideas and points of inspiration. Thanks for being just that for me, my talented writing friend. 🥰

    1. Thanks much, Dave. Dr. Stein surely makes me think, think, think!
(Thanks, too, for the mention of the graphic — Wynne and I are in tinkering mode about designs for podcast promotion and more…it seems like the more colorful and groovy images get more attention wherever we post them…not scientific… but interesting to play around. Love hearing input from a talented artist, author, designer friend — YOU!) 🌞😉🌞

  8. “Life is full of risk and navigating with friends, finding our people, makes the road joyful.” I’m struck by the challenge and the feeling we get inside when we find “our people.” The challenges seem to melt away, they’re so much more manageable. It’s such a small but huge thing all at the same time. Kind of crazy.
