Podcast Friday! Listen to the Children

I’m not sure it’s a good idea to play favorites…but this week’s podcast takes the cake…and that’s saying a lot around here, given that it’s the Friday after the feast-o-rama known as Thanksgiving.

I’m so full of pie.

I AM pie.

But there’s a nice detour ahead.  I can’t think of anything better that receiving wisdom from a third grader. A wise and insightful writer wrapped up in the uncanny body of an 8-year-old.

Which brings me to this.  Yes…I’m still grateful for my family, my health, my friends and the aforementioned pie, but before I bring this Thanksgiving week to a close, let me share that I’m also grateful for grace in small packages.  Thank YOU, Miss O and your magnificent mama for spending time with me, teaching me a thing or two about what it takes to write well.  To write from the heart.

This week’s podcast is worth a few minutes of your time.  Listen to the children. They know so much.

      1. Oh my goodness, you did great Vicki. What a smart young lady. Third grade no way! I’m not buying it . . . Sure she’s not like Wynne said 28? Wise beyond her years. Makes the guy you had on the podcast last week sound like a putz!!!!!😮😎🤣🤣🤣

        1. No fair…making me LOL when it’s so hard to explain to those around me why…it’s about a podcast, a friend-who-claims-he’s-a-putz-of-podcaster…and a 28-year-old posing as a third grader? Much too much to explain. But thanks for the giggle. 🤣😉🤣

  4. “grace in small packages.” What a delightful way to put it, dear Vicki! And I’m still laughing about “I am pie.” You are so funny, insightful and a darn good interviewer. Thanks for being willing to interview Miss O!! Happy Thanksgiving, my dear friend!! ❤ ❤ ❤

  5. I love that you and Wynne did this.

I was very fortunate to have received a thoughtfully written letter from Ms O once for my T. She really is special – as is her mom.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to you both.

    1. That’s so lovely, Ab — yes. Wynne is teaching both Miss O and Mr. D all the important things about love and kindness — just as you are with T. Good parents know how to find each other with lift and light. Hugs to you…and the whole family. Xo! 🥰
