A Greeting Times Three

Sun, moon and stars…

A pink stripe in the eastern sky while Venus twinkled heavenward

The half-moon said both good day and goodbye

And descended into the western horizon…tucking itself in for the day

A greeting times three…

I like it.

This was a fleeting experience this morning. January is making itself known with a forecast of snow, rain, ice. All the precipitation players are on deck.

But for a few moments this morning, pink hues ruled.

The image is not my own (thank you Canva for providing a close approximation) but the sentiments? All me.

I guess this post would more be more accurately titled “A Greeting Times Four” if you count my own. However we do the math, the hearty hellos? They’re heartfelt.

  1. I love this. It reminded me of my mom’s favorite poem by e.e. cummings “anyone lived in a pretty how town.”

“Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn’t they reaped their same
    sun moon stars rain”

      1. Thank you for your words that triggered the memory of that poem. I got to look it up and enjoy reading it.

  2. Love the pink hues that we are gifted with on the early morning skies! Hail and the first snowstorm of the season for us over here.

    1. Oh geez…you’re receiving precipitation soup — hail and snow – aren’t you?? Take care…we’ll dream of pinky-peach morning skies in the meantime. 🥰

  3. You are lucky to have the vanishing stars, Vicki. Not many miles away they are shrouded. Those who care must fight for them and against what their disappearance signifies.

  4. What pretty words and picture for me before I get ready to go to Book Club.
And all that precipitation calls for a day inside by the fire and snuggles with your honey!

  5. Can you send some pink sky westward please? We have been in dismal gray verging on black storm clouds now for some time. It’s so dark in my apartment I have to keep lights on, more for my plants than me but they add a bit of pseudo sunlight 🙂

    1. Oh…I surely will. Except that little glimmer of pinky/peach has been overtaken by snow…and pretty persistent snow. I hear you about the darkness. I feel like we’ve got lights on all over the house all day because it’s been gray and somber here, too. Next sunny morning? I’m sending all the light directly to you! 🥰

      1. Thank you my dear! I rather like snow sky, at least it’s lighter and you get the reflection from the ground. We may have some in the next few days, then winter can be over in my opinion 🙂

  7. Nice! We’re getting battered by a winter storm here in southern Ontario today. And the grey skies are starting to get to me. Where is the sun?

      1. Most definitely! 💚☀️💚 A friend of mine posted on Facebook that she hasn’t worn her sunglasses since mid-December. My response “Why does the sun hate us?” at least made her laugh.

  8. Winter skies can be beautiful! We got no snow here, just a giant wad of rain and some flooding 😬

    1. Yikes…a giant wad of rain…that sounds like a lot! 😲

      1. We were supposed to get some flooding, but it really wasn’t as bad as predicted. Although, we did get some water in our laundry room, which was new and exciting😁

        1. Oh no!!! Water in the laundry room and not in the washer! 😳

            1. I’m glad for that…a comment trail from you that includes the words water, flooding, laundry room…you know…my mind wanders! LOL! Glad all is okay-ish. 🥰

              1. No worries- it was just minor nuisance level stuff. Our house was built around 1860 and whenever we get really heavy rains, a bit of water somehow seeps into the house back there- and a new roof didn’t fix it 🤷🏼‍♂️.

  11. There is magic when the day slips out of her finery, eases into her nightie (get it), and like a restaurant that dims its lights to quiet us all down, we are gently laid to rest. Lovely. Hugs, C
