“Surviving Sue” – A Riveting Reel

Thanks to my dear friend Alegria for her talents and support. In addition to her riveting review of “Surviving Sue” (which I wrote about here) she created an Instagram reel…a video that made my heart skip a beat. Oh my goodness. See below.

The music, the captioning…Alegria captured the intensity of my mom’s story in a video that still amazes me. I don’t know if my book will ever become a film…but receiving the gift of recognition in a wildly creative, heart-stopping clip? Wow. Just wow.

Vicki 😉

(P.S. I’ve never inserted an IG reel into a WP post before, so I’m crossing fingers that it comes through and is viewable. Thanks for the technical coaching, Wynne and Alegria. If you can’t view it… and you’re on IG… look for the video in my ‘highlights’ – @victoria.atkinsongroup or check out Alegria on IG – @lifewithalegria.)

  1. That was amazing! So, if you get a movie deal, who plays you? You plays Sue? Isn’t that a fun thing to think about?

    1. I’m with you, Beth. Alegria’s technical wizardry is fabulous but your comment captured the other wave of goodness tha I’m feeling. The fact that Alegria synthesized the predominant threads in such a compelling way. Stunned. Thanks so much sharing you feel the same. Yep – she brought “Surviving Sue” to life. 🥰

The urgency of the music must have captured some of what it must have felt like to live in Sue’s world, Vicki. What a tribute to you from Alegria. Brava!

I don’t know Alegria, but she did a masterful job with this. I feel like I’m in the theater watching a movie preview. The music really adds to the clip.
