I don’t think I’ll ever stop smiling when reviews of “Surviving Sue” come my way.
Whether it’s my own busy days heightening my awareness about the preciousness of time or a new wave of gratitude, I am delighted when I receive reader feedback. And that’s before I read the review! 😉
Last week my ranking on Amazon bounced around a bit and I knew it was a sign of new readership. It’s pretty darn artificial, but when my book was at #23 and then #29 for more than a week, I won’t lie. I smiled. Today? I think I’ve dropped to #87 and the roller coaster ride of following the metrics begins anew, but I’m okay with it. So many books, so little time. I’m grateful every time a reader makes room for me and my story about life with Sue.
Here are two recent reviews:
“I connected with Vicki’s story because of my alcoholic mother and the fact that I had to tiptoe around her for years to keep the peace and stay safe. Vicki’s story is remarkable and encouraging, especially how she kept her wits around her to also protect her sister.“

“I began Surviving Sue last night and finished it this afternoon. The writing is very good and the story, though dark, is engaging. What a nightmare to have lived with. How admirable that Vicki remained involved. I recommend the book.“
