I love the subtitle added to next week’s “Writing for Wellness” event at the Round Lake Area Public Library:
“Unearth Your Story”
Yes! “Writing for Wellness” is a favorite topic and I love meeting new friends interested in writing as a self-care tool, peeling back a layer or two, learning about ourselves.
Next Thursday’s event is at capacity, but anyone interested can join the waitlist, found here: Writing for Wellness – Round Lake Area Public Library.
Join author and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Dr. Vicki Atkinson to learn how to unlock your storyteller’s heart and enhance your self-care game at the same time. Learn techniques for improving life satisfaction and relationships and reducing stress – all through developing your voice as a writer.
In this session I share my three favorite writing techniques to jump start anyone’s interest in writing.
The biggest tip? Leave the pursuit of perfection at the door.
I’ll share more about in my next blog post, coming this Sunday. Worries about worthiness and writing ability…a frequent topic, lately, with folks who are exploring the memoir genre, especially.
Thanks much to Megan Ramirez at the Round Lake Area Library for all of her support. I absolutely love working with librarians and I’m grateful for all that local libraries do to build community with generous, thoughtful programs and services. Never more important than right now.
