Party Time!

Hey, friends! It’s party time!

I wish I could invite all of you to the launch party for “Surviving Sue“. Celebrating this milestone with the fabulous humans who helped the book become a reality is incredibly joyous. Color me grateful.

The next couple of days will be all about food, friends, family…and love. Try as I might, I haven’t figured out how to poof my blogging friends into the experience, but many of you will be there in spirit.

I promise to share another “Peek Inside” post soon. Thank you for your support – your comments and reviews, referrals and sharing of “Surviving Sue“. (Coming soon? Good news to share about the eBook, too!)

Over the next couple of days I may not be as active here on WordPress but I look forward to catching up on your posts soon. Take care!

Vicki 😊

  3. Can you imagine how many people you’d have to plan for if you could invite all your blogging friends?? I hope you have a wonderful launch party and have at least one millisecond to drink in all the well-earned applause for your beautiful book.

    1. In the spirit of Wynne Leon…and your recent blogging-buddy-meet-ups….I say we just need to build a big tent, start a caravan or something. I’m a believer in the ‘more the merrier’. If only we didn’t have actual time and distance working against us! LOL! 🥰

  6. I wonder, does an author break a bottle of champagne over a book at launch as is customary when a ship sails for the first time? Have a plastic bag handy before you christen your Sue and officially send her out into the world 🙂 Congrats again Vicki! Have a wonderful and fun-filled launch!

    1. You’re funny! I hadn’t thought about that…but maybe I’d better be prepared? There’s an open bar and some of my friends/family have a wicked silly pranksters. Hmmm….I like your idea about being ready – just in case. Thanks, Deb! xo! 🤣

      1. Always thinking ahead Vicki- that’s my motto! I just find it ironic that the term launch is used both for a ship and a book release. It has nothing to do with wasting a perfectly good bottle of champagne, scratching up an ocean liners paint job, or sadly destroying an amazing new book 😉

        1. I love how your brain works…and I think your right-on! We should investigate…I’m sure there’s a historical nugget somewhere that ties a first-sailing of a ship with the release of a book? I needed your humor today! My introverted side needs to suck it up and play along for a couple of days and a good giggle helps a bunch. 🥰

          1. Glad to help! There are always quiet places to retreat to as, and when needed. Make sure you have a few scoped out but I know your ability to push through with grace will guide you even in the stressful moments Vicki. Hugs!

            1. Wow! Thanks, Deb – you just said the most perfect thing. The venue is a beautiful old historic mansion — restored and gorgeous and until you mentioned the ‘quiet places to retreat’ I hadn’t realized why the walk-thru was so important. Yes — finalizing locations for food, drink, program, check-in and all of that but I was also eyeing some quiet corners. You got me! 🥰

  7. Happy launch, Vicki. I think your readers will be helped even more from your story and Lisa’s story than from your mother’s. You both survived Sue admirably!

  9. I love it. Yes, happy celebrating. You deserve it. A book is hard work. Memoirs even more so. I’ve just started your book, but based on what I’ve read so far, I don’t know how you did it. It would’ve killed a lot of other. Celebrate and enjoy!!!!
