There are days…when I’d pay loads of money for a good giggle or two. Know what I mean? Today’s been one of those days and I’m grateful for the dear ones and near ones and the friends far afield who know how to bring the sunshine, no matter what.
Most often, my deepest belly laughs come from unexpected places. The trick? Remembering to keep my peepers open, ready and willing to see the hilarity. When I’m deep in my own muck du jour, I might miss the very best of what a day has to offer.
Rick to the Rescue!
Wynne and I enjoyed our recent podcast with Rick Kaempfer…he’s a humorist, an author and a terrific storyteller and joke writer! Rick’s sense of humor – quips pulled from his archives, make me laugh out loud.
So, here’s the invitation. Take a look. I defy you to NOT giggle or smirk at least a time or two as you read Rick’s list of “50 Things in 50 Years”.
Confession? #20 is a belly buster for me. I think it’s because I’ve been besieged by aggressive tailgaters recently, prompting a twin desire to scowl in the rearview mirror and/or give an unwelcome “wave”. 😜 I’m proud that I’ve done neither and Rick’s wisdom helped me refrain. Get the last laugh. It’s a much better tonic.
Here’s #20:
Remember that even though the person tailgating you is enraged, you are giving the people he or she is rushing to meet five or six extra seconds to relax.
Let me know what gives YOU the giggles.
Vicki 😉
P.S. A couple of the giggles are insider jokes for those of us in the Chicago area!
