I shared this news a few weeks ago but can’t resist one last reminder that I have a presentation upcoming — next week — on a topic near and dear to me.
Many thanks to librarian, Austin Nord, for the invitation to present at the Woodstock Public Library on Tuesday, July 30 at 6:30 pm. I love the graphic my Woodstock friends designed for the session (captured above).
When in doubt, a comfy chair, a moment to pause with a hot beverage? One of my favorite self-care strategies whether we’re tackling elder care or any other challenge in life. Slowing down is often the most important – and often overlooked – step.
Caregiving is a topic that connects us, whether we’re providing or receiving. It continues to be one of the most unexpected glimmers of goodness, resulting from writing “Surviving Sue“.
Two recent comments from readers perfectly captured my motivation share and help others:
- “Reading your book reminded me that we can’t always change our circumstances, but we can find strength in ourselves.”
- “Your strength and ability to always do the right thing in the face of madness should be a case study in a school course on compassion and focusing on the task at hand. You have a bottomless reservoir of goodness and strength.”
Goodness, strength, compassion, empathy. We can never have too much. Building the bench strength that we need to tackle the challenges in life, by gathering, sharing and connecting with one another? I love it.
Thanks for all of the support,
Vicki 😊
