The quiet in the morning speaks of promise and possibilities.
I know it sounds trite, but fresh starts put pep in my step. Daybreak has the power to upgrade my perspective.
Pointed wisdom from Rumi popped into my awareness yesterday as well-timed encouragement:
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don’t go back to sleep.
I’ve written before about my potent dream states and on occasion, pockets of problem-solving arrive. Sometimes long-forgotten quotes that are oh-so-suitable… for a malaise I haven’t quite acknowledged.
Like the Rumi wisdom.
Or insight ushered in by my dad, long departed, with his voice narrating a nugget or two of advice. Like a coach on the sidelines of life.
Other times? I get images only. Like a silent slide show pointing me to promise.
Peace. Reconciliation…with myself.
Slow mornings are a privilege I relish. They don’t happen every day but when they arrive…the joyfulness I gain is unmatched by any other wellness activity. Taking the time to reflect on what’s top of mind when I wake – before I bolt out of bed. That’s step #1.
Step #2? It’s the topic of our latest Sharing the Heart of the Matter podcast which drops tomorrow. All about the power of taking time for tea. Wynne and I share common ground around the importance of listening to the voices within whenever possible, especially in the morning, over tea.
Rumi’s quote? I love the encouragement to greet dawn and listen closely. Daybreak might point you to what you need, tucked inside.
Secrets within.
Vicki 😉
